2022 Honda Civic Sedan

Overview

The 2022 Honda Civic sedan is an affordable, reliable, and efficient car. Although Honda disappointed some loyal customers by removing manual transmission options, the fuel economy and safety ratings of the new generation Civic are sure to impress.

Pricing

The starting price of each trim is as follows:

  • LX – $22,550
  • Sport – $23,950
  • EX – $25,550
  • Touring – $29,150

MPG

The LX, EX, and Touring Honda Civic sedans can travel 31 MPG in the city and 40 MPG on the highway. The Sport trim has a slightly worse fuel economy; it can drive only 30 MPG in the city and 37 MPG on the highway.

Performance

Customers have a choice between a 2.0-liter engine and a 1.5-liter turbocharged unit. Both of these are four-cylinder engines.

The 2.0-liter engine provides 158 hp and 138 lb-ft of torque. A Honda Civic with a 1.5-liter turbocharged unit is more powerful with 180 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. Still more powerful is the Sports trim with a 1.5-liter engine, which provides 200 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque.

Interior and Comfort

The retro style of these sedans’ interiors has been compared to classic Japanese cars from the 1980s.

The backseat is roomy, with enough space for two adults to sit comfortably. The passenger seat is about as spacious as in previous models, and there is more space in the cargo bay of 2022 Honda Civics.

Safety

Honda Civics have a reputation for being safe cars, and the 2022 Honda Civic sedan is no exception. This new model has a tougher body than previous models, which makes the vehicle safer during a crash.

This Civic also offers Traffic Jam Assist and low-speed braking control. Plus, with a single camera, the 2022 Civic offers a wider field of vision than ever.

NHTSA gave the new Honda Civic a five-star overall safety rating, the highest possible rating.

Technology and Infotainment

The standard 7.0-inch display includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, you can upgrade to a 9.0-inch display that also offers wireless smartphone connectivity.

You may also choose to include in-dash navigation, a Bose stereo system, and a wireless smartphone charging pad.

Pros

Like previous Honda Civics, the 2022 sedan is very safe. Plus, the interior is more streamlined than before and appears less cluttered. There are also some great technology options based on the trim of your car.

Cons

Unfortunately, the 2022 Honda Civic sedan does not offer as many options as some customers prefer. The vehicle is available only in front-wheel drive with automatic transmissions.

Also, the 2022 Honda Civic Sport is slower than the previous generation of Civic Sports and most of the competition on the market. It takes 9.2 seconds to go from 0 to 60.
