Pros and Cons
Pros:
Despite what many people expect from electric vehicles, the Ford F-150 Lightning is built tough. It is designed for off-roading with batteries and underbody protection from the elements. The truck features instantaneous torque and is more powerful than older F-150 models.
The electric engine provides a smoother ride than most Ford trucks.
Cons:
The Ford F-150 Lightning has a lower ground clearance than most Ford trucks. Depending on the tire package, the clearance is eight to nine inches. This makes off-roading possible but more difficult.
Currently, no streaming services are available for the Ford F-150 Lightning. You can connect your phone to the built-in WiFi and stream that way, which is convenient.
Reviews
Both CarBuzz and Motortrend were highly impressed with the early performance of the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning.
Jared Rosenholtz from CarBuzz said, “Ford’s electric truck is an affordable workhorse that will soon litter driveways, job sites, and charging stations around the U.S.”
Alisa Priddle of Motortrend said, “It is quicker, more responsive, and can tow and off-road as well as or better than comparable F-150s with combustion engines. And it has some perks from being electric that enhance the experience.”
