Overview

There are five different engines available with the Dodge Ram 1500. These are the Supercharged 6.2L Hemi V8 engine, the 5.7L Hemi V8 Engine with ETorque, the 5.7L Hemi V8 Engine, the 3.6L Pentastar V6 Engine with Torque, and the 3.0L Ecodiesel V6 Engine.

Pricing

There are five models of the 2022 Dodge Ram, with the Tradesman model starting at $35,900. Next, the Big Horn model starts at $40,955. After that, the Laramie starts at $49,550. Next, the Rebel starts at $50,395, then the Limited Longhorn at $56,980, and finally, the Limited at $61,695.

MPG

All models have the same fuel efficiency except for the Limited. The Limited gets 15 MPG in a city and 22 MPG on the highway and has a 26-gallon tank. While the rest have 26-gallon tanks, they get better mileage.

The Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, Rebel, and Limited Longhorn all have 20 MPG in a city and 25 MPG on a highway.

Pros and Cons

Ram has a lot of safety features, and its tech features, while minimal, are beneficial ones. It is a pretty fancy vehicle, which explains its price point. Its powerful engines give it a huge towing capacity, but its fuel efficiency isn’t the best.

With the multiple engine options, models, and colors, this truck is highly customizable. Each engine option offers something different than the others, allowing the buyer to pick out the specs that best suit their needs. There are even a handful of options for the wheels.

Safety

Each truck has five airbags. In addition, it comes with features that correct oversteering and understeering and a 360 degrees camera that lets you see your surroundings.

LaneSense Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keep Assist help monitor your blind spots. Rear Cross Path and Trailer Detection checks behind the truck for anything crossing its path. There is also a warning system to help avoid forward collision and alerts in the Digital Cluster.

They have tire pressure monitoring to ensure your tires stay in good shape. Lastly, they offer Pedestrian Emergency Braking, an emergency brake that will engage to protect pedestrians.

Performance

The Supercharged 6.2L has the highest horsepower of 702, while the 3.0L Ecodiesel has the lowest at 260 horsepower. The Ecodiesel has 12,560 pounds towing capacity, though.

Interior & Comfort

This truck comes with air conditioning, a passenger and driver door bin, and a mini overhead console. It can seat 5-6 people in its comfortable seats.

Each model comes with multiple cup holders, too. The Ram 1500 has 45.2 inches of legroom, chair recline, and in-floor storage. The cabin is spacious, too.

Technology & Infotainment

The Laramie, Tradesman, and Big Horn have six speakers, while the Rebel, Limited Longhorn, and the Limited have ten speakers. It has a digital rearview mirror and data projected on the windshield.

According to Edmunds.com, the car lives up to the hype and has earned its notoriety. They praise the rear suspension for offering a surprisingly smooth drive. Cars.com even gives it a 4.8 of 5 star rating.
