2022 Cadillac Escalade

Overview

The Cadillac Escalade 2022 is a full-size SUV with three rows of seating. The Escalade has a 6.2L V8 engine with 420 horsepower. Optionally, you can get a 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine.

Pricing

The Escalade is priced starting at $76,590 but goes up into the $100,000s with more features and different trims. The Luxury starts the lowest, the Premium Luxury starts at $88,390, and the Sport starts at $91,390. The Platinum models go even higher.

MPG

The fuel tank can hold 24 gallons and has about 14 MPG in a city and 19 MPG on a highway. All three trims have the same fuel efficiency, which many might find inefficient.

Pros and Cons

The 2022 Escalade comes with many safety features and several helpful technology features, but due to all of the add-ons, the price can build pretty high to get more than the standard features.

The fuel efficiency is very low, but there are several quality-of-life features like seat warmers and wireless charging compatibility. Keyless open and keyless start are both standard with each trim. There is considerable cargo space but at the cost of the SUV’s bulk.

Performance

They offer five trims, though there are three base trims: Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport. Each trim comes with either 2WD or 4WD. There is optional rear-wheel drive when you choose 2WD.

Safety

There is a vast array of safety features. To start, the SUV has seven airbags. Automatic emergency braking is only available on the Luxury trim, but automatic seat belt tightening is only available for Sport and Premium Luxury.

Each trim comes with child locks, rear pedestrian alert, front pedestrian braking, and forward collision alert, amongst other safety features. Buckle to drive is the standard on all three trims. Seatbelt indicators come with all three rows.

Interior & Comfort

The interior on each trim comes with the option for all-weather mats, floor liners, and cargo liners. The interior is spacious, but that has the downside of the vehicle itself being very large. The cargo volume can go up to 121ft3.

There is an optional collapsible cargo area organizer for the sizable cargo space.

Heated front-row seats, second-row seats, and steering wheel are standard in each trim. In addition, leather seat trims are available with Sport and Premium Luxury.

Technology & Infotainment

The three trims come with augmented reality tools. One of which is navigation. With this, the SUV will give you a view of the street right in front of it. When using the directions feature, the map will show in front of you. The display can also project important information on the windshield to ensure you keep your eyes on the road.

The entertainment system is available on the Sport and Premium Luxury trims. A 110-volt power outlet is standard on all three trims. The AKG Studio 19-speaker audio system is standard, but Sport and Premium Luxury can upgrade to the AKG Studio Reference 36-speaker system.

The 19-speaker system has microphones that can project the voices of the driver and passenger to the back. The 36-speaker system has microphones in the back to project the voices to the front.

The Sport and Luxury trims have the option for night vision with thermal imaging to help you see animals or pedestrians in front of your vehicle when there is low visibility.

Reviews

Whether the pros outweigh the cons, this model is jam-packed with safety features, technology, and quality-of-life features, only at the cost of size and the actual cost of the vehicle. KellyBlueBook even tanks it among their top performing 3-row SUVs, and that speaks to the quality.
