Well,

I think I just found the problem on my carb, I have ZERO T-slot showing with the front blades closed and I had the hi speed screw turned in quite a bit to keep this engine running, so, time to dig into the tool box for an old hacksaw blade and get to grinding. =; Yeah, something to do again \:D/ My carb # is 80556-1 now back to the T-slot thread to find out how much to cut out. Thanks guys for posting this info, and too bad it took me this low to figure things out...with so many other things to do and check, I seemed to never have time to do this check and it is worth the time spent.
Can't wait to get this engine running again..... :-$ followup info in April.. need to finish some engine and chassis stuff first and wait for warm weather to do adjustments.

Alllllllrighty then, T-slot adjustments completed =; \:D/ that was easier then I thought! \:D/
Thanks again for everyone who posted this info. Now I REALLY can't wait to fire the engine now! :-$
Now I just have to buy a nipple to screw into the 1" open spacer I have so I can read the manifold vacuum and I am off & running. \:D/

One question I want to ask you all that do this kind of work on these carbs, since I have an HP model Holley, and the linkages are underneath the main body, if you pull the throttle blades and shafts out to clean the body up, do you add any grease or slippery stuff in the body prior to reinstalling the throttle shafts to keep them lubricated at all???

Yes, that one pictured was what I got 3rd place this year at the carb shootout with.

PM nomad for parts prices, he can set you up with everything except those idle speed screws. Those are 10-32 stainless Allen head screws, I used a dremel to cut a screwdriver slot in them.
