Way To go Guys. Good luck this weekend. I'll be there racing (donating actually #-o ) the S10 in Trophy. I hope the weather holds out. I want to see a 4.XX pass. \:D/ \:D/ \:D/

Congrats Chuck and Jr. Hummmm, 5.08 @ 136 is what I ran at Roxboro last Wednesday on a track with no traction past the 330 timers. Look like I need to find a better track? O:)

I have to tell you that is a very quick 1/8 mile as I think my quickest is a 5.18 at 136 and with a short time of 1.13 it get your attention real fast O:) ...Nice runs Chuck & son (boy) =;

Thanks! He was just a little late on the shift to 2nd or the 60' would have been a little better.

I told Greg it wouldn't hurt my feelings at all if he broke out 1st round on a 5.00 dial in =;

The track isn't usually that good on a test night but it was good enough. Neal Waynte was there with a Pro mod car and a guy told me he was there after the track record. He didn't make a good pass before we left so I think we made the quickest pass of the night. I had Greg making singles all night until our last pass. By then he was making good passes and I felt good about a side by side run. He just so happened to get paired with a dragster for that run. Below is the time slip. Check out the incrementals. We were in the left lane.

We were within .008 of his times until the 594 and 1/8 (then we were quicker) and just 2 mph faster.

I just knew we were gonna get a 4 out of it last night but it just didn't quite get there. There was only 1 time run for this event. On the 1st pass it went 5.10 with the air around 400'. The car was making a move to the right and Greg was dragging the shift out while he drove it back into the groove. He was on the rev-limiter in 1st and 2nd gear so I knew it had more in it if we could make a straight shot. 2nd pass was 1st round and going by how the car ran Wednesday we dialed a 5.05. I read the dial wrong on the car Greg had and he didn't catch it until he was pre-staged and the other guy was in. He made a quick change to the box but by then his concentration was gone and he was real late. The car still moved to the right some and he was late on the shifts and on the rev-limiter again and only ran a 5.14. Not ready to give up on running a 4 we bought back in and made a couple of adjustments. We left the dial on 5.05 and this time the car was a lot straighter and he barely bumped the rev-limiter in 1st gear. We left the 5.05 dial and he ran 5.03 with a .0019 light! His opponent ran 7.66 on a 7.69 dial so we won that round. I told him he needed to roll some numbers in the box and he asked 5? I said or 10. He went with 5. The air dropped to 350 on the next pass and I dropped it down to a 5.02. This pass he went .0008 red. Yep, that's right triple "0" and ran dead on. So we were finished with racing and when I went to the tower to ask for a time run, Billy (track owner's son) was holding up 3 fingers and said I only needed 3 more. On that run Greg got a little too excited and let off the button as soon as he staged and didn't know he could have grabbed it again. He left so early the tree hadn't activated and there were no times. It was a real nice shot down the middle of the track so it's possible that was our 4. We tried it again but it spun the tires and moved to the right and he aborted that run. The air was down to 115' for that one.
So close.....

Great runs Chuck. So I guess the tire rotation helped a lot. That sucks about not getting a time on the other run. You may get your 4 in the spring or maybe if you run US60 next week. ;-)

Steve I think adjusting the wheelie bar and shocks improved it more than the tire rotation but it was due for that. The car was handling great until the air got so good. I think the added power that comes with the good air just requires a little tweaking with the suspension. I'm learning :-$ . Thanks for the compliments guys. There were a lot of people watching and pulling for us to get the 4. The season's not over yet so there's still a chance we will get one.
