I found a old BG catalog and it lists the 5000 filter at 8 microns, so yes.

I already told you what I use on the pump discharge on the dragster?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Kinsler-AN6 ... a0&vxp=mtr

And I strain the fuel going into the cell. That's it! Not sure what the micron rating is on my Kinsler filter but according to that website it's not very fine @ 140 micron? :-k Just remember that the smaller the micron rating, the larger the filter area has to be to be able to flow enough fuel.

Oh, and BTW, I've got a large BG filter on the suction line on the Studebaker that's -10 and about 10" long so it "may" be one of them 5 micron mofo's. Bought that thing so long ago I can't remember exactly what it was. Of course half the time I can't tell you what I had for dinner the night before either.

Having said all that, I'd be looking at that $33 one at 80 microns and see how it works. :-k

Barry, I think i found elements to work in our BG filters and they look the same. Canton Racing Products said they have elements of 1 or 8 microns that are capatable with gas, meth and nitro. The dimentions for these elements are very close to BG's. Cantons element size L- 2.625 ID-1.125 OD- 2.000. The old BG element i have here, measures L-2.725, ID-1.130, OD-2.035, other than length it should fit, maybe a larger diameter o-ring for the crush seal at each end of the element. The parts # 26-600= 1 micron and # 26-602= 8 microns. Sold at Jegs $ 10.55 and Summit $ 10.75. Will be calling Summit to order one after i drain the fuel system this week end.

Barry the Canton element # 26-602-8 micron fit my BG 5000 filter, about 3 years ago BG changed their elements, the new elements were longer so i had to machine one of the end cap to fit the longer element. This Canton element is a little shorter like the original BG, but it still fits well. I bought the 8 micron element which is the same # micron as the BG ones, and they also have a 1 micron avalable. Sold at Summit or Jegs.
