I dont know why you would think you need to use a different one anyway.

Bruce, I am using a BG5000 filter now and there are not any replacement filters available anymore. Unless you have a few over there you can part with =; ..Also it had a fiber/paper element and it does say it's meth acceptable but wanted to go with a different one so I am not hunting one down in the future if there is an issue with it..

Ohh your talking about a fuel filter. Well ive seen problems here with paper type filters on methanol even though they were supposed to be compatible. I just simply dont believe any paper is alcohols compatible. Get a stainless one. Its a pain if you cant get the BG ones anymore I think they made a fairly fine stainless one. But start searching other suppliers sorry cant help you from over here.

Do you strain the gas when you fuel the car? :-k

Here is what I use but I didn't pay that much for mine as it was "used" on fleabay when I bought it. Mine also has -8 fittings on it.

I guess that one is OK but that -10 line is a bit large for the discharge side of the pump? But then again, some ppl run filters on the suction line instead.

That Kinsler filter I have is about half again larger than the one in your link. The body on it is 3" long and 2" OD with -8 fittings.

Barry i also have a BG 5000 filter and used my last filter element this year. This was my 5th year on e85 using this filter system with out any problems at all, like you i was looking for a new filter for next year because the BG elements are no longer avalable. I did a search tonight and found Demon Fuel Systems is going to make that 5000 filter again and a new element ( # 170019 ) that will be compatable with gas, e85 and meth.

Barry i talked to Jegs and there not aware of that element being avalable yet, they do have a replacement element for the BG filter now but they say its not compatable with meth. Jegs also says they buy their element from the same supplier that BG did ?, going to call Demon and see what they have to say.

Hey thanks Ron!!!!!!!!! Let me know what you find out as I would like to stay with what I have as it works and a filter will be less expensive than doing it over..

I talked to Demon Fuel Systems and was told, there not sure if or when that element will be avalable. Barry i was looking at the filter you listed, man that looks small area wise but they list it at 3 - 4 gpm ?, price looks good, well one more race here Saturday, then have all winter to figure it out.

Barry, still not sure if you got a answer on what micron filtration element that should be used, not sure what were using now with the BG filter sjstem. The last 5 years on e85 i have not had any problems with junk getting in the fuel system or needle & seats. I talked to Summit on the filter you listed, maybe to buy, for what its worth they said it's a good second filter because of the 85 micron element, sounds like 85 microns is not what we need for a single filter system.
