Do you use one?
Which one do you like ?
A few times now, I've been caught by chaging air --- time trial in the morning, eliminations in the PM, Warmer in the afternoon, expecting the car to slow down a bit (And typically it does ) but it does the opposite and picks up anywhere from .05 to .10. I'm blaming it on the air getting better (even though its warmer) and me not picking up on it.
Comments ?
Thanks, Howard

http://www.kestrelmeters.com/products/k ... er-tracker I hit the store button when Jake turns on the stage light. Every one will read different by a little. So always use yours in the same area. The pits and staging lanes always read different than on the starting line.

Howard, if the car is picking up in bad air, it "might" be because it's lean in good air.

Ken; Yep, I've had the same thought but I'm 4 jet sizes over factory and my O2 sensor is showing low ~ mid 12's. Also gone down from .031 HSAB's to .026's. At the last race, Saturday was 9.10, 9.14, 9.18 as the day warmed up. Sunday was 9.04 @10 AM, then 9.02 (W/ a stumble after the 2-3 shift ) and out (9.05 dial)at about 2.30 PM W/ about 15 deg. F temp increase . No idea what the D/A was but I'm guessing it came down quite a bit from AM to PM. Thanks for the comments, Howard

You can go here to see what the conditions were for the day in question. http://www.wunderground.com/history/Then run the different conditions on an et calculator to see if your car varied a like amount. If not then there may be some other variables getting over looked.

Hey Randy, thanks. Cool info but I was at Mission BC and that seems to be for the US only. Howard

I use the same app Adam is talking about and it's a good deal. Works jut as well as buddy's weather station setup.

Thanks guys ! Yep, I downloaded "Drag Times" to my wife's I-phone. For $1.99 its worth a try and probably better than nothing. Played with it a bit, seems like it may not be as accurate as a Kestrel, it gets its data from the nearest weather station, which up here in Western Canada may be 30 miles or more away. EG. where I live, I'm near the airport which is @ 1751 elevation, I drive to the airport parking lot and "Drag times" says I'm at 1411 ft. el., search through the menus and find that its getting its data from a weather station about 30 miles away. In more populated areas, weather stations may be closer together. What I do like about it though is: it gives info by racetrack and you can go back and get historical data too, right down to time of day, so I could get out old time slips and see what the D/A was for a particular time slip.
Interesting exercise !
