I always have liked those older year model Goats! Had a SBC powered 1966 myself years ago. And I really liked the 65 models best of all of'em. Same thing with the Chevelle as the 65 was my favorite in those.

Dragster? Yeah, that's OK but I own one also and they have the personality of a spent condom! Just no way to make one really stand out from any other as they all pretty much have the same body lines, etc. It's a nice car I'm sure as is mine but like I said, I have a hard time getting excited about the "racks". ;-)

I agree 100%. My next car coming in the garage to paint is a 65. It's that goldish color. I built my GTO back in 1995 and she's still my baby. Having the dragster is a nice change though. I got it so my 76yr old dad chould drive my GTO. Not many years left for him so, it was cheap & easy to go the dragster route.

You are blessed to still have your Dad around at that age!! I lost mine 2 weeks before my 21st birthday way back in 1966. :-({|=

And your Dad is blessed also by being healthy and alert enough to still be racing. When I get too slow for the "pipe", I've still got my 55 Studebaker to fall back on that runs mid to upper 6s in the eight depending on what engine is in it. Right now she's just a street driver that will run 6.90s.

I can't agree with you more. Hard to give up my GTO but he's always been there for me so it feels good to see him enjoy the car.
