If you are using the standard Holley style alcohol jets Quick fuel makes extensions for them.

Yeah I've got the push on ones for the big jets but can't remember where I got them? I went looking last night but only found the screw in ones, which aren't the best IMHO.

Not going to do screw in jet extensions...I will just see if I can find some brass tubing that will fit I guess

I was thinking that too. Looks like 7/16 tubing would have a 3/8 ID.

I've seen some of the pushon extensions from Mr. Gasket and apparently BG. They're stainless and are flattened at the end so as not to require notched floats. They're for standard 1/4x28 jets only.

I'm wondering if these can be homemade for the 5/16 jets with a lathe to get the interior dimension correct. I'm also thinking that maybe these shouldn't be squashed on the end either. Just in case squashing reduces area smaller than that of an E85 jet orifice.

Well after searching high and low I only found a 3' piece of 3/8 od brass tubing so I though I would try to expand it to fit over the jet. It was only .014 wall and brass is soft and I did have 3' of it so didn't have much to loose except the 5 bucks I spent on it. Well it worked out really good on the first try. I expanded it on one end with a tapered punch and then found a 8mm Snap-on scocket was just a few thousand's smaller than 3/8 so I taped it into the brass tubing just a touch longer than the jet itself.
I then cut them to size and taped them on the jets. Worked out really nice and was cheep like Ken likes to do things :-# ......So my E85 carb is finished!!!!
So anyway if anybody need some jet extensions for alky jets let me know as I have plenty of material. \:D/

Hope to get some E85 next week and test on 30th as it's a open test and tune...

Glad you got that sorted out. Did they have any 7/16 OD stuff and if so, was it the same wall thickness? :-k

This like I said was a shot in the dark and it worked out good. Oh and the guy behind the counter said that he's not going to carry it anymore as it don't sell at all..

Good luck on the test next week, looks like you'll beat me out by at least a week since I'm still traveling for work every week. I just picked up an Innovate LM-2 to allow me to measure what's happening and would love to have it hooked up before I head out. This will me my first data acquisition experience, so it should make the first time out even more interesting. I'm sure I'll be picked everyone's Brian with questions soon also.
