Today we started the suspension up grades. Jake works half days on Tuesday's so he got started. He had to be back at work by 5 for a meeting. He had his side done. After supper I started on the driver side. It is stripped and ready for modifications. I ordered the springs this morning. I'm taking the spindles to Kenny Grimes Racing to cut and tap the new holes. Then we will set up the brakes.

Steve,

What are you guys doing to the front end besides new springs? funny, I just put 2 sets of front springs on the junk site too!!!! [-( you may have been able to use them too :-
What is the modification to your spindles about? and who's brakes did you get for the front with them HUGH dual disc rotors!!!!! I would have went for the single disc myself, Oooh wait, I did! =; \:D/ \:D/

What else is the plan for the wagon before the season starts????

Say hi to everyone for us ;-)

John

cool grandkids too, lucky you ;-)

Aerospace prostreet brakes, TRZ arms and Trick springs. They had to cut the old Caliper mounts off the spindles and drill and tap the shield holes for the caliper to mount to. We wanted new springs to help pick up the front. The old ones had been cut about 1 and 1/2 coils. We went with the vented disk cause of weight and safety.

Say hi to Linda for us. =;

Ok we got one side done before Jake had to leave.

This is where it had to be cut and tapped. The bolts ar in the holes that were tapped.

Hey Steve looks good. Did you weigh everything and see the actual difference?
Suppose to be close to a 50Lb savings from what I see if you use the wilwood brakes I see yours are aerospace and I would think they would be close..

Lower arm Old 14.5 New 7.5, upper arm 7.5 / 5, rotor/hub 19.5 / 15.5, spindle before 12 after 11, caliper 6.5 / 1. right at 20 per side. not as much as I planned but close enough.

Looks good Steve & Jake, and that 40lbs. is 40lbs. buddy ;-) and it will make a difference \:D/
Bet ya had fun puttin them springs in huh? I am soooo glad I am done with that style as I took springs out way more then I ever wanted to!!!! You guys will switch to the coilover design in the future, that is my guess :-k =;

I will be curious to hear how the Wagon does now, get ready for mid 10's :-$ \:D/

Yeah John it should pick up some. We can't run coil overs in NMC. So we will stay with these. Last set was in there for about 6 years. \:D/ \:D/ \:D/

Got your money's worth and then some \:D/ =; Do you have the wagon back on the ground again? if so, how does it look, high or lower then before the change? I forgot in your class that you have to keep the stock design per vehicle ](*,)

What else do you have planned for the wagon?

Win some races \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ LOL It sits higher in the front about 2-3 inches above the tire right now. I got thinking that before when it came down the front end hit the bump stops and bounced back up in the air a little. My be unloading the rear tires a little. Maybe this will stop that and pick up some ET. Thoughts?
