About the MSD Vs. Crance ignitions.. Cant the explanation be so simple that the MSD ignition boxes are "poop", That MSD products quality has taken a sad turn down.. I have yet to hear any one having ignition problems with a stock Mopar ignition or with some other X brand, but many are cursing MSD, specialy the Digital ignition boxes... Personaly Ive had 2 Digital 6 boxes take a dump...

We got stuck into the tech dude on the phone and asked if they were made in China now. He shut up and wouldnt answer the question. MSD posted something on one of the forums somewhere about how they make their stuff in USA, they rabbited on about how the 10+ coils are hand made in USA etc but I have in our hot little hands in amongst the drag car spares a brand new MSD 10+ coil that is branded as MADE IN CHINA.
Not bought from E-bay, bought from an MSD dealer. So much for their tirade on other forums. I think the Crane box is made in China too, I think it always has been, but they have achieved better quality control. The issues with getting stuff made in China is when the quality goes down. Thats when people notice and you have just stuffed your business. If the quality stayed good then no one would complain.

Had one of them go to full advance and not perform its retards programmed into the box. Caught it in time on the dyno, but what about if it happened not under my control. The MSD people backtracked so hard you could see the dust trails from the space station. They denied it was faulty, they denied it was possible to happen BUT they just happened to be nice and reflashed the program anyway. What a bunch of lies.
From my dealing with them I dont trust them. I cant get any answers to tough questions, I find they are not good enough ignitions. They used to be good but not now.

We tend to run hotter plugs in our cars. Mark has been using an NGK 7 heat range. I don't know the stocking number off hand. My guess is that you wouldn't be able to use an extended tip.

The plugs I have used in my setups are NGK-r5671a-7 or -8.

Just put a new set in and there at .030.......I guess I will give that a try tomorrow and see what happens.. :-

Flooding here in Va so my T&T got canceled also! Will try to make either Roxboro or Piedmont this week though.

Sorry to hear that guy's. We tested my buddies top sportsman corvette yesterday and it was sure hot! I'm not sure when I'm out next because we need to sort out the corvette over the next few weeks to make a 4.70 show in a few weeks. We're trying to tune a new sheet metal tunnel ram trying o make the show without spraying the car.

How about some pictures Mark =; ..
Back to the plug heat range question..Running a #8 plug now and NGK has a # 9 listed should I give it a try? What will I see with a hotter plug?
