Jake and I have been rebuilding his S10 play truck. ;-) It had a tired old 350 crate motor in it. We made it a 383. The trans had issues so we had it rebuilt. The header system sucked so we had Chuck come out and give us ideas. Thanks Chuck. \:D/ \:D/ I put a little video together of the build and some driving. After the first video the pos battery cable burnt through the header #-o [-( [-( so it sat for about 2 weeks, That just pushed up the new headers LOL.

Next is a rear end. either a 8.8 swap or a 8.2 if I can find one. as you can hear I need to do some carb work. It hasn't been touched since we put it on in 2003. O:) #-o The plan is if it can run 7.50 we will play on outlaw night. \:D/ Enjoy

So what did you end up doing with the cab mounts?

He cut the outer edge back almost flush with the frame. It opened it up a lot and kept the bushings in place. That seemed to be a priority with Quinn. I have some rewiring to do now that the headers are where I put some wires :-

Thanks Barry, it has been so dang hot and humid it makes the going slow.

It looks like he didn't turn the headers back so the cab mounts are going to be more in the way of the exhaust pipes than the headers. I wish I had taken some pics of Jesse's truck when I got finished with it. I got a 3" pipe on it and kept it 3/4" above the bottom of the frame. He has a massive street tire under his truck with a short bed so it limited us to a muffler with a 14" body.

Honestly Chuck I don't know where he is going with the exhaust now. :-s He talked about doing it at work for next to nothing. Quinn said to get a 45* piece and spread it so it goes over the collector and use a strap clamp (like the semi's use) on it. We are sending the headers back out to Quinn to get them ceramic coated inside and out. He still doesn't know what muffler to use. I think he may go with a bullet. Like most Kid's he can't make up his mind. O:) =;

Thanks Jerry. Any vids of your win yet?

Chuck, Jake put a bullet type muffler on at work. the only thing it cost him was dinner and the price of the strap clamps. =; He felt bad about not taking it to you, but some unexpected costs came up. So for now to get it on the road legally he went this route. He and I really appriciated you coming out and helping him come up with a plan.

Not a problem Steve, tell him not to worry about it. I don't mind helping out when I can.

I'll let him know. How did you do last weekend? Where are you going this weekend? Jody are you going to run 6.50?

Didn't race last weekend but the week before I broke out 1st round by .008. They rosin'd the starting line 2 cars before we ran and the car was .02 quicker in the 60 than it had been all weekend. I was running a car on a 11.49 (to my 8.88) dial and I just couldn't tell when to lift at 150 mph ](*,) .

We race at Edgewater tomorrow only 3 more points races left so I have to go some rounds and probably win at least 1 of these to catch up.
