So, where are we on this project? Any progress to report here?

Well guys, the dragster project is on hold for a while. I work for a defence contractor and till new contracts are handed out I am on temporary lay-off. The economy has everything screwed up.
A friend has loaned me a dragster trailer for as long as I need it. I am refurbishing it while I have the time. As soon as the trailer is ready the dragster goes into storage to free up the shop for projects that will bring in some income to get started on the engine.

David: I am planning on 582 cubic inches minimum. Might even go 632. I am going with RFD 23* Edelbrock heads with the 2.4" intake. Hope to be able to get Curtis started on them after the 1st of the year.
The team I am working with now got their first victory of the season with their 16 year old son driving his dragster today.
Things are looking up.

I like the 582 short deck combo with them heads, if car is 2000lbs and all is right a combo like that should go 4.6's 7.3's

Well Gentlemen this project is officially finished. Hat Injection is next on the project. I was told at the track Saturday that carbs belong on lawn mowers and to get my hat injection on so I would not have to stay on the "Dark Side". John "Maverick" Cowan

Greg Thanks for the compliment. I have to admit that I am proud of the car. I let my racing partner drive it sometimes. We both weigh just about the same and the car is very consistent. I have a lot to learn about driving this year. I am a lot better chassis builder than driver. John "Maverick" Cowan

You did good. The best thing about it. is that you made it. I'd be very proud of a ride like that too. You did that in a very short time too. You get at least ten atta boys for this one.

The car goes 5.0's in cool weather and 5.10's in hot weather. Best run has been 5.001 in March. I weigh 275 lbs, the car has never been weighed, but I know it's got to be heavy with me. John
