I am posting for my friend tom, up here in eastwenatchee, WA. Tom bought a 69 amx a few years ago, He always wanted one and found a real good one, over in seattle, and purchased it, but it had a automatic and he had his heart set on a 4 speed. He has a new built motor, all new exhaust, new tires, wide stock looking rear wheels, did the brakes, new auto meter gauges and monster tach, but wanted the 4 speed. with some inquires, he found ty on this site, bought his 4 speed, shifter, and other parts, then needed more parts, which is hard to come by, pedals, pivit points etc etc, but after a few months, the project is done, and he is having a ball, tom now owns a 69 amx with a 4 speed, i like to see a man enjoying his toys, I'm glad to see his car coming together!!!!! \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/

I'm glad that car came together for Tom. There is something about a manual 4 speed. My AMX is 2 seconds faster with the auto (and bigger motor) but friends say it felt faster with the 4 speed. Manuals are fun. Ty

I own a Mustang II that has a 5 spd in it now. Years ago when it was an automatic it ran a 8.95 in the 1/8 on small street tires (235/60R14). After I got the stick in it it felt a lot faster on the street but hasn't ran better than a 9.30 at the track but it is soooo much more fun to drive!
