Why would you put a FC cage in both sides?

Hey guys, thanks for the good words,I am bending the tubing myself we have 92' of tubing in what you see,i am currently using a harbor freight bender which is VERY time consuming to use, i have a co-worker that i have been trying to buy his once used bender but I think I am going to just end up buying one off the net.

This chassis is being built to sfi 25.4 spec and is mild steel

The two funny car cages are because the owner wants to take it to car shows(trailered) and he wants it to look symmetrical,I am not sure if he is putting a second seat in it or not he may just for looks.

The combo as it stands now will be a twin turbo small block with a blow through carb,he wants to set it up for big tires but still be able to use it for 10.5 also,we have a race locally which used to be street cars but not all of them are now that is two classes one is pro street where anything goes and the other is 10.5 and anything goes except 10.5 tires, and the 10.5 guys are running around 7.90's and the big boys are running 200 mph and some of them are still street driven! that race is primarily what he is building this truck for.

Not to knock this body style, but this guy should have looked for an extended cab S-10 like the old P/S Truck chevy's. More room in the cab, the driver can be setup father back to the window area, and a better wheelbase and stance, but that's just my thoughts as I was going to build an S-10 P/S truck when they came out, now you se them in many classes of racing now a days....
Good job so far, looks awesome.

thanks guys,we are going to make the bed removable but have not decided if it will have an aluminum floor or just tubs and a tonnou cover.

We should have a "normal" looking rearend in it in a couple of weeks [-o< ,once that is set up we will remove the body and i can go at welding as it is mostly all just tacked O:)
