Looking good Jeff, I bet you can't wait till it is finished. Is all of this so you can go racing? Sounds like it needed those headers anyway.

The symmetry is almost too good.

He's that good, it's all hand cut and tacked by eye. That's why it's so much fun to come up with projects. If I can dream it he can build it. I told him what I wanted with the shifter and he "coached" me on a few things, but I learn a ton hanging around...and I do all the dirty work.

He asked what I wanted in the headers; symetric, sequential, equal length. Of course I wanted them to be the same so off he went.

Brought the car home Thursday. Before I took all the exhaust off to have it coated I thoght I would go for a spin (since it was sunny and 85 today!). Fired her up, warmed it up, and went for a spin. Idles smoother, never cracked 175 degrees (guess those old headers were holdin back the heat) and took longer to warm up, boost went from 11 lbs to 10 so we'll keep the pulleys as they are, AND MOVES LIKE A BAT OUT OF HELL. Let's just say it scared me a bit the first time I nailed it. And it pulls right through 7k wanting more. Excited, ya a bit, if I would have known those kind of power gains were available with larger exhaust I would have done it a long time ago.

So came home and adjusted the valves. After that worked another eight hours and finished upholstering the trunk.

One step closer to the track...finally!

Super secret in Southern California? lol

I would like to do it at Fontana because it's wider and smoother, and a better crowd. I'll give you a heads up.

The interior is rolling right along. One thing we found over the weekend is the left side motor mount is going away which wasn't happening before the exhaust so apparently it's a wee bit stronger than before. I have plans on putting in a plate which will be no big deal and I should be able to have it done by 03/23-25 which is Super Chevy.

That "nickel and dime bug" is biting me in the a$$ again, you know the one, he always pops up at the end of projects and causes budget overruns!

I realize it may be over the top for some, but it definitely represents my personality, and in the end I'm happy with it.

Yes Ken, the track is in the near future! :)
