This is a little project I've been helping my boy with. Yeah, that's right a 49cc 2 stroke gas powered electric start grocery cart!
Image
You'll notice the throttle control and switches inside the basket on the right. The toggle is the on/off switch, the red push button is for the starter and the little round rocker, well that's for the neon light strip taillight. This boy might get his desire to hot rod everything from his dad but I swear he gets the red-neck from his mamma's side of the family.
Image
In this last shot you can see the bar-on-a-pivot-drag-against-the-tire type hand brake and of course the emblem in the "grill". I can't really tell if he's a ford guy or not, I guess you could take it either way.

Looks like he did a good job on it. Tell him there is a 10,000 to win bar stool race in Springfield Illinois this month.

Swap to a bow-tie front clip and you'll make an exta 5 HP! It's gotta be true, I saw it in a Summit Catalog somewhere!

that would come in handy for that tv show they use to have where you could shop in 30 seconds and grab what ever you could.

I told him about that when I took him to school this morning, he said " we do have an extra Jr. dragster motor now". I told him for 10k we could use the new (fast) motor on it.

Barry, I think you see the back part of the jr dragster in the last pic, the motor is off of it right now. Not that I have anything against the other brand, I have had a few of those in my garage before.

As a former Kroger employee and pension recipient, Faye wants to know where you got that shopping cart? O:) She just wants to make sure you're not using up her pension money! =; =;

Seriously though, she did say that we should make it "Car of the Month" next month!! =;

Tell faye to relax, it's a Winn Dixe cart. The one we had around here closed up a few years ago. Some lady that lives near one of my son's buddys gave it to them. I don't want anyone to think my son would steal anything or that I would tolerate it.

Car of the month? I'm sure that would thrill him to no end but I think it would qualify better for cart of the month seeing there would be no competition for that! :-$ :-$
