Post subject:  Pictures are worth a thousand words.

The tires we took off. M/T 29.5x9x15 radial slicks. Almost 2 years old. Last run was 1.54 60' 6.94 at 99.12 O:) We dodged a huge bullet!!

This is how they worked

These are the new ones. Hoosier Radial slicks. 9x30x15. The M/T were 29.2 tall and the Hoosiers are 29.9 tall. Last night we had 1.53 60's with 17 pounds in the air bags. When we dropped it down to 10 lbs it ran 1.51 60's.

Barry this is how it sits now with a couple of weeks on the new springs.

Steve, From the guys we have talked to you generally want 3/4" to 1 1/4" and 1" being the best between
the lower control arm and the bump stop on the frame..We are over 2" right now and that was with 3/4
of a coil cut off.........And making 8 passes

I ran a Goodyear tire down about that far a few years back but performance had dropped off a fair amount by then. If memory serves, that tire had a repair plug in it also. =;

Thanks barry. I didn't know that. The old springs were sittingonthe bump stops. :- Thenew arms don't have stopsso I have to put them on the frame when I decide to cut the springs. =;

Steve I found similar on my slicks...One slick showed a couple of bad spots and the other slick was fine..Which I couldnt figure out except they where made in chile....lol.The other slick still had 1/4 wear dot and the other did too except in a few spots.Couple of blad spots like my head... :-k

Red Neck mini tub. :- =; Torch and a sledge. \:D/ \:D/ When we put the disc brakes on the rear it gained a little more back space.

That's really unusual. I seen some guys running posi's that would only burn one tire on burn outs.

Oh yeah these were directional. So rotating couldn't be done.
