Hey Guys, Took the truck out yesterday and made some test hits with the new 4-link, 9" rear, converter. Didn't really have time to plot out the 4-link so I put it at an angle like you see in all of the diagrams top bar down, bottom bar level, pinion angle at 0° I set the shocks at the middle setting top and bottom. 1st pass went right and had to pedel it 1.43 60' I kept adding pre-load until it went straight, still spinning mainly out 60-80' (actually shifted early because of this) Ran a 1.32 60' and a 6.19@108.8 the motor tune needs some work again I was playing with it end of the season and not sure of the timing or the individual cylinder jetting. Did not get many runs because I been working on it so much. So nothing broke, close ET wise of what it ran last year. Not too bad of an outing.
This week I plan on addressing the issue's. Any idea's will help.

How were you adding preload and how much did you add? Did you scale it? I like to start with the vehicle on a level surface with the driver weight in it. If you don't have access to a drive-on type lift you can sometimes do this on an open trailer. Set the pinion angle down about 3* with the top left bar and the front bolt out of the top right bar. After you get the ride height and springs adjusted (set the corner weights) put the bolt back in the top right bar adjusting the length of the bar so there's no drag on the bolt. If you have the corner weights right the truck should be real close to going straight. Make a pass. If it goes right adjust the top right bar by making it shorter, if it goes left make it longer. If you have to adjust it at all you usually have to make it shorter and it shouldn't take anymore than 2-3 flats. Some people don't like to preload like this and prefer to adjust the spring on the right rear to add weight to that tire. Of course all this is done after you get the IC and where you want it.

It's real helpful to be able to adjust the front springs to get the corner weights where you need them but IIRC that has the stock front suspension.

What do you mean without checking anything? You mean scales and 4-link angles?
It is in the ballpark now I think with the angles I started with. I will measure out the
intersection point this week and get it set if it needs changed. I am thinking I need to lower the lower bar to get a few degrees negative but will have to measure and see.

How does 56" out 6" off the floor?
