Post subject:  4-Link Rod Ends

Hey guys going to 4-link the S10 this winter and an needing to know how to figure which rods you need strength wise. You see 10,000 Lb and 40,000+ rod ends.
I am going to try and get a little more information on the frame section I am getting to see what they are. If they are not up to snuff I will get the kit without them and order what is needed.
The Kit says it comes with QA1 EXM rod ends with Teflon/Kevlar Races & Increased Cross-Sectional Thickness. Not sure what that is suppose to mean but anyway.
I can tell you the frame work is all .083 wall the front cross member is .120 wall and the 4-link bars are .156 wall DOM tubing. Opinions?

Jody, I was told that FK makes the best rod ends when I replaced the one in my Vega way back and my Beretta came with them also so the must be good..

I when I did the vega it looked like they use a lower grade rod ends to keep the price
down...Remember you get what you pay for and the ones they supply may be ok but
as much as you race they may be junk at the end of the season...

I have been told that you can compromise on the quality of the ends in the lower bars but not the top. This is because under load the bottom bars push on the ends where the top bars pull. Strength is more of a factor on the top. It made sense to me when I heard it but I still just use the good stuff all around.

Well I picked up the kit today. I am impressed with the parts I bought.
The welding looks good and the brackets are thick and fit well.
Will try to track down a rear end housing for it tomorrow or next week.
Also need to measure and order the proper housing ends, and stud kit for the 3rd member.
