Well I changed the slicks out for some backups I had that have more tread left on them but they are 1" narrower. Made the 1st hit went 6.22@108.5 with a 1.31 60' which is better than it has been for awhile, made the 2nd hit went a 6.20@108.8 with a 1.32 60' went to make the final time run and broke the rear end gears. I will post up some pictures later today or tonight. Have to go pick up a set of 4.56's now to drop in there. Had 4.88's in it. I don't expect it do change anything but they are only $100 so I'll take them! \:D/

Bad part was it was double points night..so I had to figure something out. So I ran my uncle's truck runs 6.84-6.90 with me in it. I ended up getting down to 6 cars and broke out he had a little better night so I couldn't lift. I cannot complain about that, I am still 3rd in points and gained about 10-20 towards the leader.

I talked to Doyle today and he said he ran you last night on his way to winning the race. He was pretty pleased with the way his car was running. Sorry, I guess him being there to beat you is somewhat my fault because when I talked to him a couple of weeks ago he said he was done for the year. His slicks were worn out and he said he just didn't have the money for new ones. I had the ones I took off the Probe last year and told him if he wanted them to come get them which he did. Those slicks had over 250 passes on them when I took them off and he said he has put another 30 or so on them.

Hey theres still lots of good teeth so if you hit the throttle at the right timing you'd be good to go. [-(

Hummm, Damn Chuck, with friends like you I guess Jody doesn't need any enemies then, hey. [-( =;

RE: Broken Teeth? Well, there's another way to look at that. At least you're making enough power to break stuff. ;-)

Chuck racing is racing we all know that. Doyle has had my number the last 2 times we ran.. My turn has to be coming around. It is kinda hard for me to go from 1 race car to the next and cut real good lights. I was staying around .050 for the most part but had 1 .094 and 1 .013 on the run against Doyle I was .067 and he was .035 I believe. Anyway I got the 3.73' installed last night and now I ran into a deal for some 4.56's they will be ordered today. So I guess I will pull the others back out.. [-(
Not that big of a deal anyway though. It is still on stands it needs brake shoes and I haven't put in the oil just yet. I could have went back with the 4.88's but I think it is time to try these 4.56's.

Well guys more things to learn I guess. I didn't even make it off the starting line on the 1st pass.
Apparently the rear u-Joint got cracked from the gears breaking last weekend because when I let of the button it just turned the drive shaft into a pretzel and It even hurt the brand new gears.
When we were pushing it off the line it was clunking and it was inside the rear end.
So now I need a drive shaft and gears again. Both caps were still bolted inside the rear yoke but the U-Joint was on the drive shaft with those 2 bearing cups ripped off, in process of this it broke the front u-joint was well leaving the yoke still in the transmission, I hope the trans is ok, going to check on this today... The only positive thing is I ran my uncles truck again and got down to 5 cars and I am still in 3rd for points now only 15-20 out of 1st. We have 3-4 more points weeks left..

Just an update...

I got a driveshaft with 2 new HD U-Joints these are black look pretty good and they grease thru the cap instead of the body. Also got the trans built last night everything inside was good clearances were good as well. Found a set of 4.88 Gears on Ebay won them for $100 total was $118 shipped.
They should be in tomorrow I would guess. So I will run my uncles truck to keep the points up.
Maybe this time I will have some luck next time out with my junk. I will keep you guys posted. Thanks
