I hit the spray last race for the first time. Only a 150 shot and it broke the planetary. Its a 176 glide. How mutch power and torque can these handle. My motor is 700hp and 850hp with the nitrous. I'm thinking if i want to use the nitrous again i should be getting a better planetary. What should i be looking for?

Sounds like you found the limit. 1.80 straight cut will get it done.

Ah, hummm........probably 700 HP, ya think? =;

gdmii ran one of those behind his NA 496 BBC (about 900 HP) and finally broke it after about two years running in a somewhat light car. I ran one for a season and a half in my car which is about 775HP NA and it never broke. I've heard it said that they're good for about 800 HP or so but got no real proof of that.

But the others are right about the 1:80 straight cuts. They're suppose to be good to 1200 HP, if memory serves and yes, Ronniboi Owens can fix you up with one of those and Sommers Racing has them also. I bought two from Ron last year when he did the buy in deal with BTE.

BTW, where has Ron been lately? Haven't seen him on here an a while? Never mind! I just checked and he was in here tonight at 10:24pm. Probably just didn't have anything to say, huh.
