Hello
What oil are you guys running in Doug Nash tranny(4 =1) and a Detroit Locker(strange)?
I bought some 85-90W, but was told by a friend I should use heavier in the rear and only 50W in the tranny

I would just use what you have in the trans, that's what I used to use when I ran a nash. The reasoning behind using the lighter oil is less drag and easier shifts, but the heavier should increase the life of parts. IMO there won't be a noticeable improvement in performance and that transmission should shift easy if you packed it with bearing grease 8-[ . If you are running a low ratio and are planning on streeting it I would go with synthetic in the rear. I believe Richmond Gear requires synthetic with their gears for anything lower than a 3.73.
