I have a TCI 8" converter that has a glide spline. It need to get rebuilt as It has 250+ runs on it but was wondering if it can be changed to a turbo spline??? Thanks

Barry call Brian Robinson @ BTE 800-626-1828.  He is the guy that Scott and I deal with there and he can probably tell ya.  I got no clue on this one.

I read on computer somewhere the other day that someone was advertising convertors and in the ad it said that the spline could be changed when you bought it.  Don't recall who it was though.  I've been looking at so many different things the past few days.

I think going from glide to turbo should not be an issue if they are cutting it open anyway.

I believe the input shaft is splined to the stator, would be no big deal either way. Usually a Cut and Clean is aroung $100 Not too bad but I am not sure about BTE's prices on that.

Yeah, that thingy inside the convertor has to have the same spline as the shaft, so yes  to that question and yes again since they are cutting it open they just change that stator/sprag thingy or whatever they call it, and you get to buy another new shaft too =;  =;  =;

Actually the input shaft is splined to the turbine, the stator to the stator support.

They say it should be done at that point O:) ...I did use one till it had over 350 passes on it and the sprag exploded so since then I try to get them serviced every 250 to 300 passes

That's interesting, I probably have over 500 passes on mine, maybe more. Something else to think about I guess.
