Has anyone found a source for these 2.5mm male to male "sub mini" audio cables that are used with the Innovate logger systems? What I need is some real short ones, ie, 12" or less so I can mount those two TC-4s on my car. :-k

Radio Shack has the 2.5 sockets but, not the male plugs. I looked all over creation for these things and couldn't find any.

One thing. Not only is the connection small but, it has to be small just behind the male part to fit within that little socket part.

They couldn't just use 3.5mm stuff and be done with it?

I've been able to find some but nothing shorter than 1.5ft, which is about a foot too long. As it is I've got cable loops tied up on the frame rails and that looks like crap with the sheet metal off. Oh well.

But yeah, cable problems is another reason these things can be a PITA!

Went to Innovate's site and believe it or not, they don't list a single cable on there that I could find. Nadda, zip, zilch! :-k

We have investigated mini cannon connectors. they are a positive engagement cannot come undone and very reliable. Cut the silly things off and make new cables. No more dropped connections and the resultant reprograming error it creates.

Shortest thing he had last time I talked to him is 18", which is about 12" more than I need for what I want to do as those TC-4s will be mounted out in the open on the radiator shroud and I really don't want to have junkie looking crap out in the open. The car looks bad enough without paint on it so looking like a "Gerry rig" deal ain't gonna make it!

Shrinker, I'm really not into soldering on one of these boards as my skills in that are are wanting to say the least. If I tried to do that then they probably wouldn't work at all. Just a shame that someone there didn't have the foresight to see that these connectors would be problematic! [-(

Went looking through the box that my new SSI-4 came in and low and behold there was a 6" cable in that box! So with one of these I do think I can make this work. FYI Innovate's part number for that 6" cable is #3789. ;-)

Since I got rained out today, looks like I'll be logging all 8 EGTs next time out!

Just a little update here. I received an Email from Innovate yesterday with a link to that 6" logger cable. Went to that location and almost had a heart attack as that 6" #3789 serial patch cable is $15?? FIFTEEN DOLLARS??? I've seen 10 footers on fleabay that were less than $5?? Man, talk about a ripoff!!! :-

Got here. I got two 12 ft 2.5mm cables with a male on one end and a female on the other. The male ends need to be "shaved" a bit to fit the Innovate female ends. But they're soft and trim easy with an X-acto knife.

The things are cheaper than the shipping so I would suggest buying enough to cover anticipated needs.

Check here for short 2.5mm cable at a reasonable price.

Hope this helps.
