Get 1 of these and you'll be a happy camper.

Wallyworld ask me to please buy a different brand after returning 4 shumacker smart chargers, they would start off saying 80% or so and count up to 100%. Disconnect the cables then reconnect it would say 85% and start counting up. [-X #-o

You couldn't give me another one of those Schumacher chargers. I bought one of their "smart" chargers that acted just like that. The only thing smart is they were smart enough to get my money for it. Not again.

Ive had no problems with my Schumacher charger yet but helped a guy a couple weeks ago that seemed to be having problems with his charger. I'll keep a sharp eye on the one I'm using and keep the Vector on my wish list. Ive got 2 other bigger chargers was told they really werent the best to use on my Optima.

A friend of mine that has trouble with his battery charger being consistant made an interesting discovery this week. His charger works great in his shop but doesnt seem to work properly when plugged into his generator at the track. He has a small Honda generator. He is going to check the output of the generator this week.
He has a pair of the Odyssey dry cell batterries mounted up front on his RED.

Putting an altenator on the altered was one of the best things we did. We put a bigger radiator in at the same time but that's another story.
Before I could make 2 passes then the battery would be dead. I tried it to see how far it would go. so I was charging between rounds with a little 10 amp charger. It worked fine but it's a pain. Always coming back to the pits, firing up the generator, hooking up the charger, turn on the charger, then reverse it all when called to lanes.
Now I come back to the pits, park it and go get a cheesburger. \:D/
I'm on gas and have just 1 battery.
During the week I try to keep the car on a battery tender. That way I know it's ready on race day.
As far as getting hot, I run the car's fan to cool it down after a pass but I also have a box fan in the trailer. I could use that on the car instead if I needed.

barry, i sugest that you pick up an old shwin and mount it on a pdastal, mount a 100 amp alt where the rear tire use to be and pedal your but off between rounds this will also lower your total weight during the season... =; =;
