As of 6/29/06 you can no longer have a tach signal wire hooked to your delay box, this makes the tach feature in the Biondo Mega boxes useless.
Just thought i'd pass the info along, would'nt want anyone to be DQed.

NM .. I just read it on NHRA's site.
And unless IHRA has mentioned it also I guess its still legal on their sanctioned tracks.
Personally ... they need to get rid of all the damn delay boxes, SLE's or whatever and just go back to footbraking and t/brakes w/o boxes if so desired.

Yup, count me in on the heads up 6.0 class. I wouldn't have to take much out to run that one! And I did win a track championship with a stick car a few years back! Yeah baby, I know how to do that!

I guess what Mark ment Barry is that the guys that run diggers with only that box in'em would be screwed as they would have no tach on the car. The Biondo Mega boxes have a tach recall feature built into them along with a tach function that you can use also but it's all triggered by a wire from the ignition that connects to that box.
The digger guys don't have much dash to mount stuff on to begin with so the Mega boxes were a natural for them because they could do away with the tachometer all together. My first digger didn't have a tach but did have a Mega450 box in it. It was nice. They did this to keep ppl from running traction control thru that Mega box much the same as NHRA did on the MSD Digital 7 series ignition that requires the Traction Control Detection feature built into the newer 7s.
I guess they will just have to do away with the Matty box tach and put one in that actually measures RPM of the engine now!

Yes a couple years ago at the biggest bracket race there is "the Moroso 5-Day" the tech guys wanted to look at a racer from Ohio's dragster to check for illegal devices. That racer had money comming to him and he loaded his car in the trailer and left. He would not let them check his car. Well it came out that this racer had a device in the car that he used and let his friends use. Many years before that a patten was issued by the U.S. Patten office for this device. The persons name that was on the patten was a Big money bracket racer from Ohio.
There was a big up roar and Bill Bader the president of IHRA banded 12 racers from Ohio from any IHRA event. The group became known as "the Dirty Dozen"
1. Rich Matty
2. Mark Cook
3. Ron Erks
4. Ray Connolly
5. Dave Connolly
6. Scott Lukowski
7. Dave Stockwell
8. Mike Herchick
9. Brian Joyce
10. Bill Webb
11. Todd Hickey
12. Noel Liederback
