looking for opinions............ does the following add up to a proper setup

14.5:1 compression 427 s.b.c. carbed and no juice. 7600 rpm max.
112 sunoco, 787 h.p./640 ft.lbs on the dyno.

msd says 105-115 millijoules and 480 primary voltage on one of their boxes. i will use the best performing coil for that box per msd. i dont want to say which box up front, in hopes of more insightful answers.

thanks jerome

You could get away with any, but I would use a Digital 6, 7AL, or Digital 7. Some don't know the Digital 6 puts out as much as a 7AL. If you can afford it, a 7530T is a good way to go.

I don't think anyone these days buys an ignition box just based on spark energy,we will need to know what you will be using it for to better pick the correct features unless we don't have a spending limit then I would buy a programmable digital-7.....if cost is a consideration than there are several boxes that produce the energy you require but the features will make the difference.

I got an entire Digital 7 system and I love it.  That puppy is hard on spark plugs though!  If I had it to do over again I would buy another one exactly like it!!  Now, if I would just take the time to learn all the different features that it has????  O:)

I have been running the digital 6 and the thing works better than any other box I have ever used.

I have a 15:1 388" motor that made 769hp...I run, get this, a 6AL and a blaster 2 coil....with an add on programmable digital timing computer, all the same bells and whistles as the Digital 7, but less than half the money.

With that said, when and if the 6Al ever dies, Digital 7 it will be.

My 6AL system has never failed to fire my 15:1 stuff, even injected on Alky...current Pro System Gas.

MY domino is on a 406 with Brodix 18X heads....small cam...motor only made 681 with BG demon. After the dyno we swapped intakes, brodix, and put the P.S. 1050 on. The absolute only change we made in 2 years is a high speed change. Our exhaust ports and collectors look like pic number 2...my P.S. 1000 hp 4150 on my 388" 4.125x 3.625 motor looks the same...I have jetted it, only after taking it from my cawl hooded door car and sticking it in my digger with the scoop. ..the exhaust also looks like pic 2. I guess I'm lucky.
