 Post subject: K&R Test Tonight!

Well, I got all the new K&R stuff in the car and we're off to Natural Bridge Dragstrip for some test and tune tonight.  I broke down and bought a drum of fuel Wednesday ($195) so we're good for the rest of the season.  

We also got the large tie wraps in the boosters of the alky carb to see how EGTs balance with this new arrangement.  I'm betting we will see no more than 75* high to low!

And, I'm going to detune this thing a little (timing out at the hit and short shifting) to see if we can get some consistency in it.  If all goes well, I may even try my hand as some actual racing (competition) in the not too distant future. O:)

And BTW, where are all our winners this year?  I can't believe that no one has won one yet?  Or have I missed something here?

Good luck Ken, will be waiting for the results. I was wondering the same thing about the winners. I guess everyone has the attitude that I do, the economy sucks, fuel is high and I just have not been into it. You have to go to win.

Hey, I'm trying, I went 6 rounds the week before last and we have only been out 4 times this year and 1 of those was a test and tune.  It's still kinda early in the season. We got a 5k race this saturday, I think that would ba a good place to start =;

Race track sucked tonight!!  Oh, did i mention that the race track sucked?  Well, just in case I forgot to mention it, the damn race track sucked bad toinght!!!!

I'm glad you asked.  IT SUCKED!  Does a 1.33 short time tell ya anything?

Hey, I heard the race track REALLY sucked! I thought with that Digital 7 you could leave consistently in a gravel parking lot.

You didn't see a nut layin' around out there did ya? I'm missin' one.

Does that ignition control have the slew rate controller?  
"They" say it helps alot... :-k

Yeah, it's got it but it's not activated cuz I don't know Jack about how to set it up.  

I took 4 degrees of total timing out (made it 26) and then took an additional 10 degrees out at the hit (made that 16 degrees) and it still damn near burnt the tires off it!!!  I think someone mixed motor oil with their traction spray!

Oh, did I mention that the track sucked really bad?  Outer space is a complete vacuum because that race track sucks that bad! O:)

Don't know about IHRA, but slew rate controller ignitions are not legal in NHRA.
On the other hand, if the track kinda sucks, that is where a slew rate controller could be a great help.

I only run Outlaw tracks and they really don't give a s**t whether I got one or not!  In fact, most probably don't even know what one is to begin with.  

Not too sure they would do much good in a bracket race though cuz tire slip isn't something that you can manage without a variance in ET and variance in ET doesn't win races!!  That function might keep you out of the wall but I doubt it will do much for consistency

But, I'm not using it anyway as evidenced by the logs posted in the other forum.
