Since you're spending that much money to start with I'd have to go with the MSD Digital 7 with the boost reference timing control. Those things are adjustable for each individual cylinder if needed and can be programmed from a laptop computer or via a hand held programmer.

It's funny. Here I am telling you to run one and I have that entire setup sitting on the work bench and don't have it in the car? O:) Hummmm, what's wrong with this picture? =;

I would go with the digital 7 also on a blower motor.

Are'nt the 2 plus heads small for a blower? :-k

Is there a way to do a boost referenced retard on that thing? I know my Digital 7 has one built in but I'm not familiar with the 6 box.

I'm also not familiar with a blower engine either but from what I've seen/read they (boost retards) are used a lot and I'd say it's probably needed even more if you're going to street drive this thing. I do know that you can't run a crank trigger on the street and expect to keep bearings in the engine! Been there, done that on my SBC! A timing retard may take care of this problem though.

On my SBC I finally put a throttle activated switch that changed the ignition timing from the distributor to the crank trigger when it went WFO. Anything under WFO then it ran on the distributor. After I put that setup on the engine it did fine, even on the street but before that it would beat a set of main bearings out in about 100 miles. Please note also that this engine was only around 10.5 to 1 compression and 34* timing!

I saw another post that suggested a Magneto. If there is variable timing in that thing it might work also but I'm not familar with one and have no opinion one way or the other. I'll leave that to someone that knows what they are talking about.

There is a blown BBC in a camaro at my home track. He runs the MSD 10 plus......I do beleve it in the 540 range and it runs 7.60s at 180 in the quarter. Something to watch on the starting line. Barry =;
