I finally have decided  to get on the ball and mount my alternator.  I have an AC Delco 1 wire alternator.  I have a two part ?.  How do you all wire this? gauge wire? and directly to the battery?  Next question is how do you tell if a one wire alternator is charging correctly?

Ken thanks for the pics of your several months back. It gave me a start on mounting mine.

If your not running a Main Power cutoff switch then run the Alt. power wire to the Starter Solinoid where the main positive battery cable hooks up and use 10 ga. wire.

If you are running a Main power cut off switch you'll need to run it to the battery side of the switch. And preferably use a 4 pole disconnect switch that doesnt keep the alt. wire hot when the switch is thrown into the Off posistion.

To test to see if it is working properly, Check the Voltage with the engine off and it should be 12 + volts and then start the engine up and check the voltage and it should be around 14 v or so. You might have to bring the rpm up to 2000 to get the 14v.
