ok the thread has been hijacked!!! i went to columbus today! it rained for about 3 hrs in the morning. boy was that miserable. then the sun came out and it was on. there's something about the smell of nitro that makes me forget that i was wet and cold!

anytime you personally see connolly get his cheatin ass kicked feel free to hijack any thread you want . lol

did you notice that the diggers seem to get REAL mellow as they stage now instead of sounding like they're on nitro?
every digger at bristol sounded like they took 20* of timing out once they lit the pre-stage lights. no crackle at all & the rpm seemed like it went up a bunch.
the funny cars still sounded REAL pissed off at idle as they stage but the diggers almost sound like they're on gas at the line.
did you notice anything like that at columbus?

yeaaaaah i did. i dunno what was up w/that but they were still bookin. i know when they do the burnouts the blowers are limited and they only have one fuel pump on.

man i would love to watch a race at thunder valley. i bet it's awsome with the mountains and echos. it's the one track i want to spectate at more than any other.

funny thing, the people behind me got all pissed when i stoop up and cheered when he lost. that and the fact that every time he came to the line i boo d and called him a little cheatin prick!

Speaking of cheating SOB, I will get my chance at Dinwiddie this fall! We plan to go to the Friday night Qualifying session.

Thunder Valley is AWESOME! Been there, done that at the OLD track. Still haven't been to the new improved version. I saw Bill Jenkins win Pro Stock there in 73 with a 331 SBC in a Vega. The final was Reid Whisnat in a Hemi Duster and that Vega pulled his ass in high gear. The Mopar boys were beside themselves as Reid left on the Grump and then Grump drove around him on the top end, something that wasn't suppose to happen against a Hemi! Loved it too! Got Pics of that! \:D/ Back then that Vega came from Malvern, PA on the back of a flat bed truck, no trailer! Also got to meet and talk to "BIG" at that race as he was just starting with the Rear Engine car. I think he won that race also.

Ahhh yes, the good old days! \:D/
