 Post subject: NO SPARK ON # 8 ???

i have a old hei dist in my sbc and it is not firing on #8cly it has new wires and cap coil . i put the timing light on #8 and it will light and go out and it pops in the muffler on that side you can here it pick it up and drop that cly i check all the other ones and some of them do it but not that long of a drop you can tell it is missing . ichanged everthing in side the dist but not with new stuft had it from another dist .i never seen one do that before .any help i will take ?? i know get a msd dist iwill when i get the money .. thanks aj

yea i did thats what i dont understand why it get #1 and not #8 and sometime #2 .when i frist got it running it sounded real good and i took it for a drive and i forgot too pull the 3000 chip out and it broke up real bad and never ran good since thanks

possibly you fouled those plugs, i have a little trick for you, remove the coil cover and all the plug wires, have someone crank it over for you and all 8 should spark to the coil. it will be jumping a wide gap should be audible and very blue. don't get your nose to close they like to bite. =;

thats just what happen the plugs were fouled they were not wet but changed the plug and it works fine how stupid do i feel thanks i knew if i asked someone on here they would know THANKS ALOT
