On a Dominator there is a step that is just below the banjo and seems to be here and there as far as being centered. The 1150 that I have been lending out looks a bit better than the other one that I have.. Now will it help if I paper roll that step right out and make it smooth as that is the way the QFX Quick fuel cab is I have..

Is it on the body or the booster?

I think he's talking about the parting line where the two halves of the mold meet at the vena contracta. Like casting flash I guess.

I know my old style 8896 has more of that than the newer HP carb I have but I didn't do anything with it.

Looks like there are 3 steps to the machining process..The bottom where the throttle blades are.. The center and the top where it flairs out..I am talking about top side to the center..I am going to hit that with a paper roll and smooth it out on this other carb I have and see what will happen on Ant's car..Maybe nothing..Don't know till I do it I guess..

Just keep in mind that if you change the ID of that venturi then that will change the signal at the booster. Don't know how much it will change it or whether it "might" be a problem but it will change.

It's not much at all. A little on one side compared to the other but wanted to blend it together..
The QFX main body I have is smooth all the way threw. No lip at all..

If that 1150 is a good carb just leave it. Smoothing is also opening and the 1150 doesn't have the best venturi to begin with. So if it's working right don't mess with it.

You already have a job..............working on a big inch E85 calibration. \:D/
