While I can't answer your question about a better fuel, I can tell you that I run C12 in my 15.2 to 1 18* SBC and at some point may even go to E85 once I see it run in a similar compression engine. jmarkaudio's brother is currently running E85 now in a 14.5 to 1 SB2 engine in his Corvette roadster.

Having said that, if it was my engine at 11.5 compression I'd be looking at E85 if it's available in your area.

Higher octane fuel won't necessarily yield better performance. IMO it will likely slow you down. I went from a 110 fuel to a higher octane with an engine that was around 13.5 to 1 and my car was noticeably slower.

With your compression Av-gas would be a good start, another that is oxygenated but has a lower vaporization curve would be VP MS109. Be ready to jet both up a little.

We ran 110 at 10.5:1 and then went to 14:1 and run VP113. Very consistant.

At 11.5 , you shouldn't need any more than a good 110 . Anything more would only waste your money .
