JOHN, THIS WAS MENTIONED UP THE PAGE BUT JUST TO MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND I'M GOING TO POINT IT OUT AGAIN. YOU CANNOT RUN LEADED GAS [-X OF ANY KIND MIXED WITH ETHANOL!!! UNLEADED GAS ONLY TO MIX WITH ETHANOL AND MAKE SURE YOU READ SHRINKER'S POST ON THAT STUFF!!!

Yes the best way is to mix together race unleaded thats got an octane similar to ethanol. If you inject nitrous and cool it enough to get separation then it shouldn't matter because the gasoline is sufficient octane the same as straight ethanol. I dont know why you would want to use E85 if you can buy straight ethanol. Straight ethanol is perfect, it cant separate, its high octane its cheap. Id just use straight ethanol or methanol, better yet.

Yeah, that's what I meant and I typed race gas [-( so yes, unleaded gas and I guess just ethanol or methanol. Hmmmmm good info... Thanks Ken ;-) sorry to make you repost this info =P~ ;-)
Thanks Bruce also for your info. I just have to cut cost for next year if I want to keep running fast, and use nitrous, plain & simple.
Thanks again ken & Bruce for your help, it has been a big help learning about how to use these fuels for sure. ;-)

Elky, I got your PM over on YB. If you have anymore questions PM me here at MSV. The PM system here is much better.

Just wondering -- any of you guys have any data to support the incompatibility of metal octane enhancers (TEL, etc.) with ethanol?

Its pretty much commonly accepted that its not good to mix leaded race gas with ethanol but I have never seen more than theories as to why. I'm not disagreeing with the position that leaded race fuel and ethanol mixed is a bad thing, I'm just wanting more info to support why.

thanks!
