i have a bbc that had 75lbs of pressure hot at 7500 rpm with a stock volume pump. because of nhra's stupid diaper rule i ended up changing pans for front steering clearance with the diaper and sending the new pan out to get the diaper made. at the same time i decided to get a titan sportsman pump rather than change pickups on my chevy pump. i had to send it back once due to insufficient pan to pump clearance. i primed the pump and checked the pressure at the time which was fine at 70 lbs. the problem now is with the engine completely warmed up and heat soaked i have 110 lbs of pressure as it revs . the bypass is either sticking or it cant deal with the volume to keep pressure at 75lbs. they were supposed to check it after it was built. the engine did it immediately also so i cant imagine a a piece of debris from the engine sticking it. any experience with these?was racing this weekend. not now huh

I have one in my car and was a little low on PSI in the beginning running 10/30 so I adjusted it. I think a turn and a half and now have 85 cold and 40 hot after a run idling and 60 at speed..

What oil and filter are you running??

Not to sure what the problem is with it :-k ..You may want to try the oil pressure port where mine is just above the oil filter...Your going to see some difference in oil pressure front to rear I would think..

had the pump apart numerous times, made a fixture and ran it on my mill but it would only spin to 2200 rpm 4400 crank where it checked ok. so i put it back in and put a plug in the pan where i could get to the reg adjustment.with the engine hot the pressure still climbed to 95lbs by 6000rpm. backing the adjust ment completely off and later shortening the spring lowered the pressure at lower rpms but would catch back up by 6000 or so. it was a lot better after i ported the bypass circuit but still would have been 100 lbs or more.to repeat there was nothing wrong with the pump it just had to much volume. the lower volume pump still has enough to have 45lbs hot at idle. the 1st one is the one they recommended. i told them what it had with a stock volume gm pump. its a really nice piece but the 1st one was just to much. my motor apparantly doesnt have alot of leakage

I would make a very large assumption that your engine has tight rod side clearance and is some aftermarket block with lifter bores that are un modified (tight). I think you are right. Little leakage. I've noticed that only Very long stroke engines (4.75+) need those Bad A** pumps. and then only if you spin the RPM Way Up!!!
