I have a 427 4 bolt tall deck and Brodix BB2 XTRA Heads milled to 110cc with no porting. I'll be running M-5 fuel with a Pro Systems 1050 alky carb and three vane vac pump. I'm looking for cam specs, crank stroke and rod length for a max effort engine that will get a 175 shot now and then. I would like 900hp without spray.

Well guy's i've started on this project. I've been doing some investigating at local builders, buddies and the bullet. I've ordered a Callies Magnum 4.375 stroke crank that they will balance without drilling holes in the counter waights to keep windage down. I have a set of 6.700 Callies I beam rods coming, together with JE 14-1 nitrous pistons. I've been talking with the local engine builder who is in good with Brodix. They have a new 320cc oval port raised runner head thats not on the market yet, but testing has been going well. He couldn't even show me pitures but said they flow in the 400cfm range from .400 lift with very high velocity from the small runner. They use this head together with a rec port intake that is welded then cnc'd with the right port hight for the heads. They said 1100hp is possible with 500ci and single carb. I'm looking forward to seeing these heads. Hopefully conventional valve train will work. =; Its going to be an interesting off season. Two more races with the 468 and its coming out. ;-)

I know how it is to be excited for the season to be over so you can jump into the new project! :-$

How heavy is your car and what gear and transmission? Off the top of my head I would be looking for heads in the 340cc range. Maybe even 350. JMO

The car is 3000lbs with me in it. It has a Reid case clide with T/S 180 gears, roller bearing tial housing, pro brake and T/S spragless 9" converter. Currently has 5.14 gears with Strange aluminum center and Moser 35 spline axles. The gears will be changed for next season, probably 4.30. I'm still waiting for the ''real'' specs on these new heads. I'll be dynoing this one for sure.

Hey guy's havn't been here in a while thought i would give an update. I ended up building a 520 with Callies Magnum 4.375 crank and Altra 6.535 rods. I used the BB2Extra heads with a Super Vic and a Pro Systems 1050 Alky carb i had to work a bit for M-5. The engine made 871hp at 7100rpm and 730 torque at 5600rpm.
I also restored an old dragster and used my 468.

Good numbers!

What cam specs and compression ratio did you end up with?

When will you run it in your car?
