Hey guys I about have a deal sealed on that block casting #. Is thois a good solid fpoundation for a 700+ hp build or should o look for a diff casting #. Please reply asap as the motor will go back with the sellers aunt who lives in my city.

I'm not sure what you're asking, but I have a 445 4-bolt block and haven't had any trouble with it.

i was simply asking of that casting # of block is a good strong solid block with no known weaknesses. i dont wanna buy a block that has a known weakness and blow it sky high the first time i run WOT

Look for a street build any 2 bolt/4 bolt 454 block will be just fine..700 hp on the street is way more than you want
even if you run it on the track some..
In that truck your just going to brake stuff as it's not made to run that kind of power.
Mild build will produce 500hp easily with no issues as long as you don't abuse it
all the time.....
Your looking at $5000 + starting like you are with just a block...If it was me just buy
a 502 from like Jegs or Summit and be done with it and it will be warranted..
You can do that for less than building one for sure...IMO and what I would do..
Unless you don't have any $$$$ at all then your just wasting time and dreaming.. #-o

Any BBC, built right with quality parts & machining/clearenced right will be fine to 700 HP, IMHO.
