I got a http://www.cranecams.com/product/cart.p ... il&p=24641 Cam and need springs.I have had these Isky tool room springs on there since 1996.I guess I'm going to try for the first time to install them on the engine. These are the springs Crane calls for http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CRN-96886-16/ .I guess I'm going to try them or is another that would work? Thanks

Tool room springs are good, just put the same thing back in or look at a set from PAC, IMO

When I built my 18* SBC a few years back I did some checking with ppl that had run that type of head. Two ppl told me that they had run Manley Nextek springs with excellent results, one of which had put over 700 passes on a set and they still checked good. I freshened up my engine last winter after 3 seasons a little over 300 passes and those Manley springs were still good as new so they went back on that engine even though I had a new set in stock.

I'm sure that there's other brand names out there that will work just as good as the Manley spring but why bother? If it ain't broke, then why try to fix it? Check the springs you are using now and you might be surprised at how good they still are!! If there are no issues with'em, then either continue to run'em or replace them with the same brand and part number.
