When I built that 18* engine 3 years ago I had a slight problem with water leaking from the head gaskets. Since the block wasn't ground smooth I just figured that was the reason and after a couple of times out it quit leaking.

Well, when I pulled the heads off this engine a couple of weeks ago I found something that might have contributed to that water leak. The top row of head bolts were bottomed out as when I pulled them the stud came with them and the nuts were jammed and the end of the stud showed where it had bottomed out in that blind hole. Remember, this is a 15.2 to 1 compression engine and I'd venture to guess that "some" of that head bolt torque was missing on those bottomed out bolts. O:)

Bottom line is those MLS gaskets made a believer out of me! \:D/

Oh, and I forgot to mention this part. That head stud kit was ordered from Dart specifically for these heads, to the tune of $200!! Nice, huh!

I know Cometic head gaskets are a good brand as many quick cars use them, I use the Felpro MLS gaskets myself and have had not one issue, they seal, and they can be reused if needed.

I've never had a problem with the blue Fel-Pro race gaskets and I never change to the the "latest" thing if the old thing works and is cheaper and yes I've reused the blue ones on a few occasions w/o a problem.

What Rick said,....I've only installed one set of these things, with no problems, and that was due to the guy wanting them specifically.
