Hey Guys,

Wanted to get some opinions on Jet Hot coatings. The item I want to get coated is my intake.
It has been extensively ported and has been welded on, on the outside of the runner / carb base area. It seems to get fuel seeping out from here over some time. I think the Jet Hot coating would not only look good but seal it up well. What do you guys think? Also if I go with a Flying toilet setup- I will be drilling the runners for the injectors, would this be best done before I sent it off? thanks

Who is going to do the coating? Quinn has a guy that does coating, he is sending Jake's truck headers off when we get them pulled. I would think you should drill, tap and plug before.

I was looking at having them do it. Jet Hot. They quoted me $160
The only detail is that when they get it it will be coated, meaning no kind of smoothing or anything will be done by them. So if I send it in I need to smooth out those welds and blend any other imperfections the best I can before sending it out.

Having it powder coated is another option, lots of different colors available.

For sure do the injection holes before sending it out they will just plug the holes anyways. I suggest using Nitro Plate I think you are closer to them and right now they have I think 10% off and maybe free shipping.

Here is what I had done.

I wasn't happy with the last job I got from Jet Hot and after the "deal" they offered me to make it right I won't use them again. I would use someone local or go with Nitroplate.

I'm kind of bummed to hear this about Jethot as I want to get my headers and collectors coated! =P~ I would like to have them coated by a company that supports the NMCA if possible, and if they pay contingency in my class too :-k Is there a link to Nitro coat??? Thanks for the info guys.

John

Jody, a carbide cutter will take the rough stuff off and then use some sand paper tootsie rolls to finish it off and start with a coarse material and then a fine to finish it off and that should work real good for you, and if you want more smoothness, use the sand paper flapper rolls and this will do a nice job and smooth it out nicely. ;-)

I've had headers and intakes done by both jet hot and nitro plate. Nitro is in another league.

Price guide.
