Hey Guys, I have had some trouble with my mini-starter in the past. The problem is getting the correct gear to gear mesh without the gear sticking in the flywheel after it starts or being too loose and eating up the flywheel. I just got a CVR starter and another new flexplate SFI of course. I do not want this starter and flywheel to end up like the other one. I have the instruction sheet but am having trouble setting it up. I guess maybe I need a specific type of feeler gauge for this? It says to check the backlash 10-30 thousands and the gear should be between 40-100 thousands from the flywheel before engaging the starter. Does this sound right?

I pull the drive all the way out with a pair of pliers and then if you can fit the wire in between the teeth your good. You may have to turn the flywheel a touch to get it to slide out..
