I am putting exhaust on my S10 to keep the dirt down and to give it that nice sound.
My headers have a 3.5" collector so I ordered all 3.5" stuff including the Dynomax Bullet mufflers.
I am down to welding my hangers on, after putting it back under the truck.
Any guesses on how much it will slow it down? Or will it?
Went from open fenderwell headers to now having 24" of straight pipe a 16" bullet muffler and a couple of 90° bends. I can't wait to fire it up and see how it sounds. \:D/

We have the same set up. It didn't slow us down a bit. And it sounds a lot better. \:D/ \:D/ \:D/

Sounds very good and idles better too! I can pretty much hit the gas once and start it and it will idle from being cold. That is a 1st for me, usually it don't take alot but more effort than that normally. I am pretty satisified so far, we will see how well it runs tonight in the heat.
If it runs 6.40 or quicker than I will be happy. Will post results tonight when I get home... =;

Well It was some HOT weather. Don't really know how much it really effected it but here it the results...

The 60' was a 1.39 spinning still best all day/night was a 1.378
The ET's were off the trailer (5" Breather on too.)
6.512@104.3 leaving at 4000
6.523@104.2 leaving at 3400
6.512@104.3 leaving at 4000
6.49 No ticket so don't know much about the run
pedeled and ran a 6.478 losing 1st round
Dialed a 6.45 ran a 6.62 coasting he had a problem
6.46@105 red lit
6.46@105 Uncle Driving it
6.46@105 Leaving off the converter.

I have to say it was pretty darn consistant. Just no hook. I will try and do some rearend adjustments and check to see if anything is out of wack or binding. Something is keeping this thing from hooking. It is never this bad. You know it is bad when you go to the line wondering how much it will spin this time. The track was in good shape, most people were hooking real good.

Have to say that I really like the sound of those pipes going down the track and in the pits.
the ET don't really bother me.

It looks like it didn't lose too much. I bet you lost a 10th in the heat. Now you can run the 6.50 class. \:D/ \:D/

Yea I was thinking that too Steve. I have found me a set of tires. Joe Mayhabb runs True street said he is ready to sell his 12 runs $200 I am waiting on him to email me back on where I can go pick them up at. These are the tires that the truck usually really likes. 29.5x10.5W they will give me 1" per side more tread. Seems to make a huge difference / or did before. =;

if the mufflers arent a restriction the next item is how much collector length it wants. you could run collector extentions with an open exhaust and shorten them in 2 in increments to find out what the car wants. it may work best with even longer sec length. then either run the mufflers there or make terminator boxes and run the mufflers in a good spot behind.

Joe is a good guy. I've talked to him a couple of times. Newer tires never hurt ;-)

They quieted it down alot. Under Full throttle not as much but some.
I am very happy with the sound and idle quality it has now, and of course no dust..
I think there is some Power loss but not sure how much really. I thought I would find out Last night but I have another issue that I found, I have to pull the transmission. Seems like I have something odd going on like low pump pressure or a linkage problem. The final round I ran I had no transbrake and when I got to the trailer I went to back up and line up with the trailer to get ready to load up and once I took it out of gear, I had NO gears. But the linkage i all moving on the outside so it is something more... We will see...

I tore down the transmission. I found the clutches to still have the writing on them. I did find the 1.76 Planetaries are shot teeth gone not as bad as the set of 1.82's I broke a few years ago but they are shot. I have another set on the shelf I am going to put in. I think since I have it apart anyway it is time to send the converter back to Edge for a look see. I think there is something else going on too. The pump has some wear to it but not too bad, I will have my trans guy take a look at it to make sure, it could need resurfaced.
