It's getting close to being out of the machine shop, I'd like to here what you guys think it'll make, I'm probably not going to Dyno it, but will be running it in a 68 tube chassis ladder bar car that weighs 2750 lbs with me in it at the starting line. It has 4.56 gears, powerglide, 14X32's
It ran 9.50's with a mild 496 iron heads Team G 1050 carb .708 lift dur @ .050 268/272 110 Lobe Sep

The new engine is a 555

Star Vacuum Pump

I'd like opinions of HP @ RPM and an estimate on ET and MPH for 1/4 mile and 1/8 mile.

Looking forward to your input,
Thanks

Now that's funny! =;

I'm planning on a bigger carb a little later, and I would be real happy with anything close to what Barry's car is running.
My original goal when I started gathering parts was to be able to run 8.90's in the heat of summer, I'm thinking it will do better than that now.

Hammertime, I'd be real happy with 935 hp, but I am hoping to run the local 8.50 Index without nitrous. I finally got some more numbers, the intake ports ended up being 355 cc and the compression ratio is 15.25

Changed cars, this engine is now going in a 69 Nova round tube chassis, 4 link, same gear, trans and tire, should weigh 2650 with me in it.

Donee, I would save some $$$ and get it dynoed..It is worth the $$$ for sure..
If it don't make almost 1 thousand hp I think I would not be happy as my cam is smaller, heads are smaller and your compression is over 1 point higher...

If you want and the snow is flying here I will be happy to send you my carb to run on the dyno or the track ;-) ...

Sorry I missed your call last night but was driving (trying) out of the city as I took my better half to see a play...

Thanks for the offer Barry, I think I'll be trying a Large Carby from Shrinker. But I will probably baseline it with my 1050. Nice to know yours liked a larger Carb.

As for the Dyno, I just spent my Dyno money upgrading my Data logger. So I'll be logging 8 EGTs and 8 O2s, plus a bunch of other channels.

I'll call you later.

I think your right Barry, and it be interesting to see what the car does with both carbs tried. :-k

My guess is, it will make over 1000hp and about 794ftlbs of torque around 7700 rpm's
