I got my motor up and running again today. I Had the Cylinders Torque plate honed this is after 2 seasons and a ball hone last year... The cylinders are very loose but seemed to seal up alot better. I cannot detect any blow by coming out of the valve covers after only 5 or so minutes of run time. The Pistons are 4.165 but the cylinders are now 4.168
There was a little on the tops of the cylinders that was still looser than the rest of the bore that didn't clean up, said if they took out of enough to clean up the marks it would be too loose and would start braking piston skirts ect. Any opinions on the cylinders being this loose? Anyone else run a cylinder this loose?

I've never ran anything other than what the piston manufacturer recommended for clearances. Where are you at for clearance? On my big motor build, I decided to take the bore to 4.610 due to a small ridge at the top of the bore. My pistons are on the way from JE, and I'll have the block honed to size to fit the pistons. I'd guess if you've got good ring seal though, you should be ok. One thing I would do though, is pull the oil pan a few times this season and take a really good look at the underside of the pistons to see if you have any cracks or abnormal cylinder wear taking place, just for the piece of mind.

Jody good to hear you got it together. My machinist likes them loose with forged pistons. 2 years so far. I think ours is looser than yours.

Just to make sure that you have enough room for piston rock....With a deck that it close it may hit the head... :-s

Well I took the heap to the track Saturday and made 3 test passes. The track was crap but it did not smoke!! That was the biggest reason for freshening it up so that is great.
It only ran 6.32, 6.33 and 6.28 but my 60' was off a full tenth. So I think there is a little more in it maybe 6-teens after it hooks. We should see Friday night. I have not leaked the motor or done a compression check yet but will soon to see where it is at.

It was good seeing the truck go down the track with out that black cloud from "LOST" behind it ;-) I'll post the one video I have sometime soon. It will be interesting how hardinsburg will do since nobody has been down it this year due to the weather?

Jody right after you made your first run Terry asked Willy if you had all your safety stuff. Pants, collar, and so on.

Cage is not Certified either Tray forgot about that..

Steve I went 3 rounds too. The truck was making a right turn pretty bad with the wheels in the air and almost crossing the center every run. I adjusted it and adjusted it and it didn't help. I think that is why I lost the last round ran 2 numbers off but was riding the center then work it back over and used up too much track. So yesterday I tore all the rear suspension down and started over. It is good and square now so if it acts stupid again maybe it is roll out from the tires I will check that too sometime this week to see if they are different. The truck didn't ET any better so far than last year. Had a 1.30 60' ran a 6.29 @107 about normal but like I said I think it will do a little better when the suspension is working right again.

I hope you got it lined out. I heard the new concrete patch was giving everyone head aches O:) But it came around later.

Jake made it to the 3rd round on redlights. He is out of practice. :- ;-)
