O.K call me crazy but looking at oil pans for my Vega with the new 385 to go in it,I happened on my old photos of the 388 I built for old yeller.Lookin at them I noticed the 388 had a Moroso "Vega Chassis Style" oil pan.

So,with that in mind I figured I'd order another since it worked out well with the 388.
Now comes the weird sheet.
http://www.moroso.com/catalog/categoryd ... Code=11010
Read the bottom notes...LOL will not fit 3.75 stroke.

And read the oil pan part here....

Now I'm really thinking I may be crazy. 8-[ but I know I used that same oil pan on the old yeller with the 388. heres a pic.

So,I called Moroso tech and they told me no way that it would clear h-beam rods and a 3.75 stroke. So,,should I order one an try it =; =; =; =; =; or I'm I just crazy....P.S I do not remember any ,issues with rods hitting the pan...none.

I got a better one that that! Remember that first 434 I built, the one I sent you pics of the bottom end when you built your 421? THAT engine had a Moroso Vega pan on it that I modified and made the sump longer so it would hold more oil but it DID CLEAR A 4" STROKE WITH CARRILLO H BEAM RODS! In fact, it's on that engine now in the Studebaker! I don't know what the part number is for the one I've got but I do know it was bought for a Vega cuz I got if from a friend that had an SBC powered Vega back years ago.

Does it matter that the rear seal is a 1 piece with the Tune Port injection motor?

And looking at it the dipstick is on the drivers side.Wasn't the 89 tpi motors left side dipsticker?

I am running the Moroso pan in my vega with a 3.75 stroke and h-beams with no troubles....no windage tray though,I dont think it would fit in that shallow of a pan,but I have not tried it
