Hi Guys

Is there a calculation to get the manifold decking measurement. We took 100 thou of the block so wondering how you calculate what to take of the manifold.

Thanks Trevor

Trevor,

I'm sure there is a simple way to calc. this out, but you also may have to angle cut the intake too, so don't just straight cut it, it may not fit to well afterwards, but I am not sure with the amount you took off the block, and how far off the intake will be to render it to be angle milled, but you can always do a mochup and see what you have!!! just my .02 cents.

I know someone here has already been down this road, like Ken maybe???

John

If the cylinderbanks are 90 deg apart, take same amount off each intake flange as you took from the deck ;-)

Mike I think he is working on a Holden V8 down in Oz. Never heard of anyone pulling that much off a block deck before?

.100" Wow.
Hope you have enough deck to hold the head gaskets in place.
This is a suggestion on how to determine how much to cut off the intake.
Set the heads up with head gaskets on the decked block. Make a template of the "valley" area that your trying to fit your intake into. Using that template you should be able to determine how much to remove off all three intake surfaces.
Good luck. ;-)
